Round 8: Foisor, Gunina and Muzychuk are leading.

In the eighth round of the EIWCC the leaders of tournament Cristina-Adela Foisor and Valentina Gunina agreed on a draw after 42 moves. Thanh Trang Hoang, playing White against Anna Muzychuk, preferred to transfer the game into the equal ending but Slovenian player was playing more precisely and got a decisive advantage.  As a result Anna Muzychuk climbed on the top of the standings and joined a group of leaders with 6,5 points. Viktorija Cmilyte defeated Nazi Paikidze, who didn’t play accurately in the opening and let her opponent to create strong attack on her king. Viktorija Cmilyte, Tatiana Kosintseva, Nino Khurtsidze share the fourth place with 6 points. Elina Danielian managed to defend a position rook against queen against Katerina Lahno - after 110 moves the game was drawn.

Round 7: Gunina and Foisor are leading
guninaAfter the free day the players showed the tense struggle in their games. On the first board playing white Valentina Gunina won against Thanh Trang Hoang and replaced her opponent on the first place. Cristina-Adela Foisor defeated Viktorija Cmilyte and became the second leader in the EIWCC.

Free Day
webOn 8th of March (International Women's Day) the players enjoyed a day off. Most of the participants, trainers and organizers embarked on the rest-day's activities but some of them preferred to stay in the hotel and relax before the round 7. The organizers of the EIWCC launched some special agenda for the participants. At 13.30 players gathered in the lobby of the hotel where the President of Gaziantep metropolitan municipality Dr. Asım Guzelbey and the President of TCF Ali Nihat Yazici congratulated them with the holiday and presented flowers.
