REGULATIONS
1. Organisers:
Turkish Chess Federation, by the sponsorship and support of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, under the auspices of the City of Gaziantep and the European Chess Union.
2. Venue, Date & Schedule
The tournament will be held in Gaziantep, Türkiye, from March 17th (day of arrival) until March 19th (day of departure) 2012. The tournament hall will be in “The Anatolian Hotel Gaziantep”.

3. Participation:
The European Women Blitz Chess Championship is open to all players representing the Chess Federations which compromise the European Chess Union (FIDE zones 1.1 to 1.10) regardless of their title or rating. There is also no limit of participants per federation.
4. Registration Fee:
European Blitz Chess Championship medalists 2011, female players with ELO rating at least 2400 do not need to pay the entry fee, if registered no later than on the 14 of February 2012.
The all other players with ELO shall pay entry fee of 15 Euro;
The players without ELO shall pay entry fee of 20 Euro;
5. System & Rate of Play
All players play 13 10 double (revenge with reversed colour) rounds according to the Swiss system. The rate of play, except of tie-breaks, is G-3'+2'' (3 minutes for a game for a player, with an increment of 2 seconds per move).
The rate of play in tie-breaks is 4 minutes for white and 3 minutes for black for a game, with an increment of 1 second per move.
6. Dress Code
The ECU Rule related to dress code – Chapter B Article 13 - will be applied at this competition. (Appendix 1)
7. Title & Trophies
The winner of the event will be awarded as ‘2012 European Women’s Blitz Champion’. The top three winners of the event will be awarded by respective medals and cups.
8. Tie-Break Procedures:
The order of players that finish with the same number of points shall be determined by application of the following tie-breaking procedures in sequence, proceeding from (a) to (b) to (c) to (d) the extent required:
Performance Rating, the highest number wins;
(a) Buchholz cut - 1, the highest number wins;
(b) Buchholz, the highest number wins;
(c) Number of wins, the highest number wins.
In the case of unplayed games for the calculation of (a), (b) and (c) the current FIDE Tournament Rules shall be applied.
In the case there are less than 75 % rated players, the following criteria will be applied:
(a) Buchholz cut - 1, the highest number wins;
(b) Buchholz, the highest number wins;
(c) Number of wins, the highest number wins.
9. Prize fund:

Category prizes:
Under 20: 1st 250 €, 2nd 200 €, 3rd 150 €, 4th 100 €
The best Turkish players: 1st 250 €, 2nd 200 €, 3rd 150 €
The players in the same score group shall money prizes. A player get only one prize, the highest one.
10. Lodging & meals& Transfer
Official Hotels: All players, guests and extra participants are invited to stay in official hotels on following conditions.
5 stars hotel: The Anatolian Hotel Gaziantep
Full board in double room per person per day: 69,00 €
Full Board in single room per person per day: 89,00 €
4 stars hotel: Uğur Plaza Hotel Gaziantep
Full board in double room per person per day: 49,00€
Full board in single room per person per day: 69,00 €
Participants who do not stay in official hotel will pay 100,00 € total compensation fee for organization. TRANSFER FEE: The Organiserprovide transfer from Gaziantep Airport to the official hotels -55 € per person two way / 75 € if only one person transferred
11. Medical care
During the Tournament there will be Medical Services according to the FIDE Tournament Regulations. The Organizer is not responsible for any health insurance of players. Players have to insure themselves for health and accident risk for the period of the championship.The Organizer will provide suitable emergency medical facilities, during to the play of hours at tournament hall.
12. Visas
The Federations or players who need assistance with their visas are asked to contact the Organizing Committee before 14 February 2012.
