REGULATIONS     

1. Organizers

Turkish Chess Federation, by the sponsorship and support of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, under the auspices of the City of Gaziantep and the European Chess Union.

2. Venue, Date & Schedule

The tournament will be held in Gaziantep, Türkiye, from March 14th (day of arrival) until March 17th (day of departure) 2012. The tournament hall will be in “ The Anatolian Hotel Gaziantep”

Closing ceremony will be held in Gaziantep in “The Anatolian Hotel” on March 16^th at 19:00.

3. Participation

The European Women Rapid Chess Championship is open to all players representing the Chess Federations which compromise the European Chess Union (FIDE zones 1.1 to 1.10) regardless of their title or rating. There is also no limit of participants per federation.

4. Registration Fee

The current medalists of the European Rapid Championships shall pay no entry fee in the respective championships as well as the players with ELO more than 2200;

The players with ELO from 2000 to 2200 shall pay entry fee of 10 Euro;

The all other players with ELO shall pay entry fee of 15 Euro;

The players without ELO shall pay entry fee of 20 Euro;

The national federations are kindly requested to fill in and return the Application Form to the Organizer’s e-mail address or fax number not later than February 14, 2012.

5. Prizes:

Prize fund will be 10.000 Euro.

Category prizes:

Under 20: 1^st 250 €,   2^nd 200 €, 3^rd 150 €,  4^th 100 €

The best Turkish players: 1^st 250 €, 2^nd 200 €, 3^rd 150 €

6. System & Rate of Play

All players play a 11 – round Swiss Tournament with the rate of play G-15 ’+10” (15 minutes for a game for a player, with an increment of 10 seconds per move).

7. Dress Code

The ECU Rule related to dress code – Chapter B Article 13 - will be applied at this competition. (Appendix 1)

8. Title & Trophies

The winner of the event will be awarded as ‘2012 European Women’s Rapid Champion’. The top three winners of the event will be awarded by respective medals and cups.

9. Tie-Break Procedures:

The order of players that finish with the same number of points shall be determined by application of the following tie-breaking procedures in sequence, proceeding from (a) to (b) to (c) to (d) the extent required:

(a)    Performance Rating, the highest number wins;

(b)   Buchholz cut - 1, the highest number wins;

(c)    Buchholz, the highest number wins;

(d)   Number of wins, the highest number wins.

In the case of unplayed games for the calculation of (a), (b) and (c) the current FIDE Tournament Rules shall be applied.

In the case there are less than 75 % rated players, the following criteria will be applied:

(a)    Buchholz cut - 1, the highest number wins;

(b)   Buchholz, the highest number wins;

(c)    Number of wins, the highest number wins.

10. Currency & exchange:

The local currency is the Turkısh Lira’s.   1EUR = 2,46 TL   1USD = 1,72 TL

11.  Lodging & meals& Transfer

Official Hotels: All players, guests and extra participants are invited to stay in official hotels on following conditions.

5 stars hotel:The Anatolian Hotel Gaziantep

Full board in double room per person per day:   69,00 €

Full Board in single room per person per day:   89,00 €

4 stars hotel:Uğur Plaza Hotel Gaziantep

Full board in double room per person per day: 49,00€

Full board in single room per person per day: 69,00 €

Participants who do not stay in official hotel will pay 100,00 € total compensation fee for organization.

TRANSFER FEE: The Organiser provide transfer from Gaziantep Airport to the official hotels -55 € per person two way / 75 € if only one person transferred

12. Medical Care

During the Tournament there will be Medical Services according to the FIDE Tournament Regulations. The Organizer is not responsible for any health insurance of players. Players have to insure themselves for health and accident risk for the period of the championship. The Organizer will provide suitable emergency medical facilities, during to the play of hours at tournament hall.
